The DivMoSt project (2024-2025) is studying scattered fruit tree populations throughout Austria. The aim of this project is, on the one hand, to record the biodiversity of indicator animal groups in scattered fruit tree populations. Wild pollinators (with a focus on wild bees and butterflies), birds, and bats are recorded. On the other hand, a geodata-based method is to be developed that will enable future nationwide recording of orchard populations and documentation of their development. Two orchards in the nature park are part of the project, one in Nestelberg and the second in Gaming.
