Since September 2023, the Ötscher Base in Wienerbruck has been an Alpine Convention Infopoint. The Alpine Convention is an international treaty for the sustainable development and protection of the Alps. It contains guiding principles for sustainable living in the Alps and provides the legal basis for the protection of alpine ecosystems. The goal of the Infopoints is to communicate the objectives and content of the Alpine Convention to the public. They are thus an important link in raising awareness of the Alpine Convention's content in the region. There are a total of eight Alpine Convention Infopoints in Europe, the Ötscher Nature Park being the easternmost location.
