Guided hike to the Ötscher mountain with experts from various disciplines. Issues surrounding climate change and alpine habitats will be discussed.

Located in the heart of the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park, the Ötscher, at 1,893 meters, is the landmark of the Mostviertel region, visible from afar. In addition to breathtaking views and sporting challenges, the impressive mountain range offers a variety of unique habitats for plants and animals. But climate change is also affecting the Ötscher's biodiversity treasures. This hike, led by experts, explores the climatological, botanical, faunistic, and geological features of the Vaterberg. During the hike, lasting several hours, keynote speeches are given, and ecological features are presented to an interested public. The hike and the subsequent refreshment stop provide space for exchange between participants and experts. This format has already taken place in 2022 and 2025, each time attracting over 50 participants; another hike is planned for 2026.
